Marketing Specialist | AACC

Washington, DC, AACC, a DC-based dynamic, international scientific/medical society of clinical laboratory professionals, physicians, and research scientists focused on clinical chemistry, essential to the science of lab tests, and related disciplines, is seeking a Marketing Specialist.

The Marketing Specialist implements and manages valuable marketing efforts to drive audience engagement in strategic programs. Reporting to the Director of Integrated Marketing, the Marketing Specialist provides direct implementation and coordination of assigned marketing program activities and provides overall management of all program/service promotional email operations including oversight for vendor support. The Marketing Specialist also has responsibility for project management related to several marketing department programs. In addition to working closely with all AACC departments, this position works closely with AACC members, vendors, external marketing partner organizations, publishers, and event speakers.

Select Responsibilities Include:

Managing email marketing program development and execution including data/list management, email creation, testing, deployment, and campaign performance reporting and analysis.
Supporting email marketing initiatives and operations including serving as email platform administrator, point person to department liaisons and in-house expert for email design, layout, technical issues, and industry compliance.
Implementing in-house and industry best practices to ensure high quality. communications are produced through the email and marketing automation platforms.
Coordinating administration for Survey Monkey and other digital platforms.
Editing and proofreading promotional copy to ensure quality and accuracy of materials.
Other duties, as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Communications or a related field
4+ years marketing experience required
Well versed in HTML
Email platform management and production experience
Hands on paid digital marketing experience
Understanding of marketing automation
Familiar with analytical tools and reporting
Excellent proofreading skills
Understanding of and ability to apply promotional copywriting best practices
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Proven history of multitasking and meeting deadlines
Ability to succeed in fast-paced environment and work under tight deadlines.
