GEAPS is a non-profit association serving the grain elevator and processing industry. We serve individuals in the grain handling industry by providing opportunities for networking, education and professional development. We are seeking a creative and energetic email and events marketing specialist and writer.
POSITION PURPOSE
Do you have a passion for developing strategy, analyzing data and marketing services? GEAPS is seeking an experienced marketing specialist to join our Member Engagement Team to provide marketing strategy for and assist with developing and evaluating marketing campaigns for GEAPS’ programs, products, events and services. The Marketing Specialist will also focus on email, events and content writing.
 
POSITION DETAILS
The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for maintaining a portfolio of 4-5 program throughout GEAPS. He or she will work collaboratively with other teams to plan and implement strategic marketing and communications campaigns to grow GEAPS membership, engage target audiences, foster greater visibility for programs and increase revenue opportunities. The Marketing Specialist will ensure that projects and campaigns are implemented in a timely manner, within budget and meet established goals.
 
The ideal candidate has experience collaborating with stakeholders and developing and executing marketing campaigns. This person will be comfortable employing the latest marketing tools to conduct day-to-day marketing activities, while developing long-term strategy and thriving with tight deadlines and evolving programs.  
 
The successful candidate must be able to identify and compile outreach lists using database tools and mass marketing email platforms. The Marketing Specialist will also conduct market research as needed to help inform the development of activities, programs and products. This person will report to the Director of Member Engagement and work closely with the Communications Manager on daily activities.
Design, develop and oversee implementation of marketing strategies and workplans to increase and sustain grain company support for membership and engagement in GEAPS’ programs.
Establish positioning, identify target markets and develop comprehensive marketing plans to promote all GEAPS events, products and services to include print, digital, web and social media outreach. Gather audience and market insights to inform outreach strategies and increase customer conversions and engagement with GEAPS.
Develop a strong understanding of industry stakeholder interests aligned with GEAPS core purpose and values.
Implement market development plans to expand membership and program utilization/participation.
Support organization strategic tactics by leading the execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns, leveraging internal support and contributing to team collaboration and consensus.
Assess campaign performance through the collection and analysis of defined metrics and communicate results.
Assist in the implementation of building the strategic plan into a cohesive marketing plan.
Assist in the development and lead the strategy and execution of various digital communications platforms, including email, web and advertising.
Work with all teams within GEAPS to increase its brand awareness and reach.
Build and facilitate social media strategy and presence.
Collaborate with program managers on developing marketing materials and execute on a positive consumer experience.
Serve as support staff liaison to all GEAPS committees to design, develop and implement related marketing and communications strategies and tactics.
Manage related budgets to include budget development, monitoring and approving budgetary expenditures, and analyzing statistical and financial reports.
Develop strong messaging on all programs and services to support the sales efforts of the rest of the team.
Manage all phases of a full website redesign which includes website design strategy and development phase execution.

 
Job Skills:

Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Proven time management and organizational skills. Knowledge of project management principles and methods are a plus.
History of performing marketing research to understand how to best position what is being sold by GEAPS (events, services, memberships, etc)
Experience interpreting data/metrics to determine effectiveness tactics, including a strong understanding of Google Analytics.
Knowledge of WordPress, web design and graphics are all a plus.
Ability to work autonomously, while also taking direction and adjusting priorities as needed.

 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in a marketing and/or communications-related field from four-year college or university; 2-5 years of marketing experience and prior association experience is preferred. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated project management skills.
 
Remote work environment with potential for office space as needed. Some travel is required.
