Hi, we’re Shake 👋 Our mission is to help companies grow with online reviews, whether 1st party (on their business) or 3rd party (on other businesses). We leverage big data to enable workflows that have never been seen before, with a software-as-a-service approach in Reviewshake and a data-as-a-service approach in Datashake.
We’re an established business with thousands of paying customers and a team of 20+ and are searching for a full-time remote Senior Python Engineer to help us build out our services. You’ll be an important part of our early-stage team and work on several projects, internal frameworks, and micro-services. We are looking for someone who is excited about building out game-changing technologies that are used by software engineers, data scientists, quants, and data analysts all around the world.
You’re a proactive, sharp, and self-motivated individual who is eager to learn and take ownership of our products. You love communicating and working with others in your team toward success, taking us from where we are now to where we want to be!
Being bootstrapped (not venture-backed) and fully remote, we don’t strive for growth at all costs and are building a company that we can be proud of, and enjoy working for.

On a typical day, you will:
- uphold our high engineering standards and bring consistency to our product development
- create and develop new functionalities as well as maintain existing ones
- write clean and scalable code
- do code-reviews
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate has:
- Solid experience as Python Developer (5+ years)
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) / OVH and REST API (FastAPI)
- Experience working with Docker / Kubernetes
- Understanding of RDBMS/NoSQL databases
- Excellent knowledge of git
- Fluent English and excellent communication skills
- BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant work experience
Nice to have:
- Experience with Ruby / Ruby on Rails
- Experience with Terraform / CloudFormation
- Previous experience working as Data Engineer
- Experience creating products for developers, data engineers, and/or data consumers
- Hands-on approach and is proactive
- A keen eye for detail, striving for perfection
- Experience with Web Scraping (scraping data in network traffic) is a huge plus

Our team is fully remote and we communicate primarily through Slack, Linear, Notion, and a few weekly meetings via Google Meet – we believe the best work happens when given lots of uninterrupted time that’s free of distractions.
💰 Salary range: $54,000 – $62,000 / year (USD, gross)
